McCorquodale Tied for Third as Cumberland Sits Fourth

TOCCOA, Ga.--Cumberland positioned itself in the hunt after day one of the Currahee Invitational, sitting fourth overall after 27 holes with 27 more to play on Tuesday.

Cumberland wrapped up the opening 27 holes of the Currahee Invitational in fourth place at +41. The Phoenix shot a 319 in round one and are 10-over as a team through nine in round two.

Cumberland sits just three strokes behind third-place Cumberlands (+38) and 10 shots off the tournament lead. SCAD Savannah and Dalton State are tied atop the leaderboard at +31, while the Phoenix hold a nine-shot cushion over fifth-place Southeastern and Lindsey Wilson at +50.

Alba McCorquodale is tied for third place five-over for the tournament. In the first round, McCorqudale posted a six-over 78 picking up 13 pars in the round. Through nine holes in round two, McCoruodale has fired three birdies to be one-under on the round.

Crystal Zamzow is tied for 15th place at eight-over thus far. Zamzow posted an 80 in round one with one birdie in No. 13 with five bogeys, and two doubles.Zamzow is two-over in round two through nine to sit at 10-over overall.

Matilda Lind is tied for 21st place at 12-over. Lind carded the second-lowest round for the Phoenix in her first 18 holes shooting a 79. Starting on No. 14, Lind started slow, but played the last 13 holes at two-over with a birdie on No. 5, one bogey and one double. Lind is five-over on round two with three bogeys and a double.

Lucy Labdon shot an 82 in round one with a birdie on No. 3 and is six-over in round two through nine. Labdon is 16-over for the tournament tied for 31st place. Franziska Mramor posted an 84 in round one and is eight-over in the second round.

The Phoenix will return to the course Tuesday morning to complete the final 27 holes of the 54-hole event with a podium finish within reach.
