Day One of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship Suspended

YPSILANTI, Mich.-- Inclement weather forced the suspension of play Tuesday during the opening round of the 2026 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at Eagle Crest Golf Club, shortening the championship to a 54-hole event.

Cumberland's Franziska Mramor was the lone Phoenix golfer to complete a hole before weather moved into the area causing the delay and ultimately the suspension of today's round.

In total, 72 players remained on the course at the stoppage, while the remaining 84 golfers are scheduled to begin championship play Wednesday morning when action resumes.

Due to the weather delay, the championship has been reduced to 54 holes. The second round is scheduled to begin Thursday morning. Following 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and ties, along with the top six individuals not on an advancing team and ties, for Friday's final round.

The Phoenix will look to resume play Wednesday morning as Cumberland will pick up where they left off with Mramor on Hole 2. Lucy Labdon has teed off on 1 and hit her approach shot while the rest of the Phoenix will tee off at 1 starting at 9:00 a.m.
