Idamadudu sets New NAIA Best-Time, Vlk hits NAIA 'B' Standards

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Praise Idamadudu and Zoe Vlk highlight day one action of the PNC Lenny Lyles action at Louisville.

Cumberland was led by Praise Idamadudu, who clocked 24.10 in the seeded 200m to earn an NAIA 'A' standard and claim the top mark in the NAIA this season. She finished in fourth place out of 17 runners. Her performance comes off the back of Idamadudu being named NAIA Track Athlete of the Week last time out.

In the weight throw, Zoe Vlk secured an NAIA 'B' standard with a throw of 16.83m (55-02.75). Though slightly off her best mark this season, which already met the 'A' standard, Vlk remains among the nation's top throwers. She finished in 13th place out of 31 throwers. .

In the 400m, Leesa Mutandwa recorded a time of 1:00.70, while Ezthia Maycock crossed the line in 1:01.02.

The middle-distance crew took on the 800m, with Sharon Jerop finishing in 2:30.39 and Hope Britt following in 2:36.68.

Isabella Lehtinen represented Cumberland in the 60m prelims, posting a time of 8.14.

Wrapping up the distance races, Alexa Rumpf clocked 12:11.48 in the unseeded 3,000m.

The Phoenix will be back at tomorrow for the final day of the PNC Lenny Lyles.
