Cumberland Men Take Seventh at Ray Bullock Invitational

UPLAND, Ind.--Cumberland men's cross country battled through a competitive field at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Friday, finishing seventh overall with a team score of 193 points.

Leading the way for the Phoenix was Matteo Abel, who placed 31st overall with a time of 26:33.83. Garrett Tunks followed with a strong showing at 27:24.98 to finish 53rd, while Ethan Garcia crossed the line in 56th at 27:28.55. 

Bela Brandl (28:05.80) and Edwin Kigen (28:05.89) rounded out the scoring for Cumberland, finishing back-to-back in 73rd and 74th, respectively.

Indiana Wesleyan claimed the men's team title with 32 points, followed closely by host Taylor University with 39. UIndy took third place with 68 points followed by Grace College in fourth. 

Cumberland will return to competition on October 25th at the Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
