Cumberland Men's Bowling Wins the 2025 MSC Greater Nashville Open to Begin Conference Play

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland Men's Bowling wins the 2025 MSC Greater Nashville Open

The Phoenix finished the MSC Greater Nashville Open with a score of 5918 pins, which was first among the 17 teams that participated in the competition. Among the teams in the Mid-South, Pikeville finished in second with a score of 5841. Tennessee Wesleyan finished in sixth with a score of 5549, Midway finished in ninth with a score of 5341. Lindsey Wilson finished in 12th with a score of 5111, Campbellsville University finished in 13th with a score of 5040, the Cumberlands finished in 15th with a score of 4891, and Union Commonwealth finished in 16th with a score of 4775.

Individually, the Phoenix had two bowlers in the top 25. With Freshman Ethan Gomez leading the way for Cumberland with a score of 969 through four games for an average of 242.25, which was second overall and first among the varsity players. Junior Jacob Ballenger finished in 10th with a score of 869, which is an average of 217.25. Logan Beasley finished with a score of 792, for an average of 198. Junior Carter Baylog finished with a score of 762, for an average of 190.5. Sophomore Braxton Dedmon and Senior Malik Randolph both played two games, with Dedmon finishing with an average of 239.5 and Randolph finishing with an average of 192.

In the eight baker games, the Phoenix were able to score 1663 pins for an average of 207.875, and were able to beat Pikeville by 135 pins and claim the MSC Greater Nashville Open Championship.

The Phoenix return to the Smyrna Bowling Center to compete in the Brandon Burns Memorial on October 26th.
