Cumberland Football Continues Streak in NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland football continues to earn national recognition as the Phoenix are receiving votes in the latest Netting Professionals NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, marking the program's eighth consecutive appearance in the national rankings this season.

The Phoenix (6-4, 2-3 MSC) have posted their second straight winning season, highlighted by a perfect 4-0 record at Nokes-Lasater Field. Cumberland has been one of the nation's most balanced teams statistically this fall, averaging 379.8 yards per game including 185.7 on the ground and 194.1 through the air while scoring 27.4 points per contest. The Phoenix defense has forced 13 turnovers and held opponents under 20 points in three of their last five outings.

Nationally, Grand View (Iowa) remains the unanimous No. 1 after a dominant 62-7 win over Culver-Stockton, while Keiser (Fla.) holds steady at No. 2 following a 34-23 victory against Southeastern (Fla.). Benedictine is 9-1 at No. 3. Friends and Montana Tech are tied for fourth both with a 10-0 record with 387 voting points. 

Lindsey Wilson is the highest-ranked Mid-South Conference team at No. 8. Campbellsville rejoins the Top 10 at No. 10. Georgetown moved up one spot to No. 20. The Phoenix are receiving votes. 

The Phoenix conclude the 2025 regular season on Saturday with Senior Day playing host to Faulkner at Nokes-Lasater Field.
