Cumberland Wrestling Ranks No. 10 in Third Regular Season Poll

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland wrestling held firm among the nation's elite on Wednesday afternoon, coming in at No. 10 in the latest NAIA Men's Wrestling Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

The Phoenix earned 139 points to remain inside the top 10 for the fourth straight rating cycle, maintaining their national standing in a week that saw considerable movement throughout the middle of the poll. Grand View (Iowa) and Life (Ga.) continued to hold the top two spots, while Indiana Tech climbed into the top three, but Cumberland stayed steady at No. 10 and continues to anchor one of the strongest clusters of programs in the NAIA.

The Phoenix are one of four Mid-South Conference schools ranked inside the Top 25. Campbellsville is ranked the highest amongst teams in the league at No. 7 followed by the Phoenix at No. 10. The Cumberlands held put at No. 12 and Lindsey Wilson moved up two spots to No. 22.

Cumberland's top-10 position is reinforced by the strength of its individual lineup, highlighted by 141-pounder Jared Dinh, who remains No. 1 in the nation for the fourth consecutive ranking. Dinh, now 3-1 on the season, has earned a runner-up finish at the CBC Invitational. The Phoenix boast eight nationally ranked wrestlers overall, including multiple top-three competitors.

At 141 pounds, Sammy Shires joins Dinh near the top of the weight class at No. 3, carrying a strong 7-1 record with a runner-up finish at the Lucha Open. At 149, Victor Guzman holds the No. 2 national ranking and remains undefeated at 9-0 after winning the Lucha Open, a performance that earned him Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week honors.

Depth continues to define Cumberland's roster with several additional wrestlers climbing the national ladder. Rocco Horvath sits at No. 7 at 184 pounds with a 2-1 record following a runner-up finish at the CBC Mustang Invitational, while Tyler Rowland is ranked No. 10 at 197 pounds after a strong 6-1 start and a third-place finish at the same event. At 174 pounds, Anthony Pyron checks in at No. 15 with a 7-2 record, highlighted by a fifth-place performance at the Pepsi Patriot Open and a 3-0 record in dual action. Ethan Gomez, ranked No. 18 at 165 pounds, has posted an 8-4 mark with top-seven finishes at both the Pepsi Patriot Open and the Lucha Open. Rounding out the group is 125-pounder Chase Walker, ranked No. 21 at 5-2 and already a Mid-South Wrestler of the Week after earning a strong showing at the Baron Duals.

The Phoenix will be in action this Saturday at the Smoky Mountain Duals.
