Men's Golf earns 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University men's golf has been honored with the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week.

The Phoenix earned the distinction after posting an impressive 3.486 team grade point average during the spring semester. Cumberland was among a GCAA-record 292 programs across six divisions recognized for their success in the classroom.

In addition, 129 programs nationwide received the Presidents Special Recognition for maintaining a team GPA of 3.50 or higher.

The GCAA annually presents the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award to programs that achieve a combined team GPA of 3.00 or higher during the academic year. The honor reflects the commitment of collegiate golf programs to excellence in academics as well as athletics.

Cumberland men's golf will look to carry its strong academic and athletic momentum into the upcoming season, which begins this fall.
