Phoenix Open Season at Rohrman Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.--Cumberland men's golf opened its 2025 season on Monday with two rounds of play at the Rohrman Invitational, hosted at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The Phoenix sit in ninth place after the first day with a team score of 629 (314-315) and will close out the event with one more round tomorrow.

Carter Stroup led the way for Cumberland, shot an 81 and a 3-over 75 to finish the day tied for 23rd at 156 (+12). Stroup fired four birdies in both rounds.

Patrick Chesnut followed closely behind, posting rounds of 79 and 78 to sit tied for 27th at 157 (+13). His first round he fired 12 pars and picked up two birdies in his second round with nine pars.

Bailey Rousseau opened strong with a first-round 75 before ending the day tied for 30th after an 83 in his second round to sit at 158 (+14). Gustav Fredriksson carded rounds of 82 and 79 to place 43rd overall at 161 (+17), while Harry Caygill rounded out the team with a two-round total of 166 (+22).

Playing as an individual, Carlos Diaz made a strong recovery in round two with a 75 after shooting an 85 in the first round. He is tied for 40th at 160 (+16).

Marian (IN) holds the team lead at 587, paced by tournament-leader Weston Ogden, who fired rounds of 67 and 69 to sit at 8-under par.

The Phoenix will wrap up play in the final round of the Rohrman Invitational on Tuesday morning.
