Fredriksson Named to MSC First Team After Taking Individual Championship

LEBANON, Tenn. -- Mid-South Conference officials announced major honors and All-Conference awards last night with Gustav Fredriksson named to the All-Conference First Team, thanks in part to his major effort in winning the MSC Tournament individually.

Fredriksson finished his first year with the Phoenix strong as he topped the field in their final tournament, earning himself an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship as an individual. The junior finished ranked No. 73 nationally, and No. 67 regionally, gathering three top ten finishes this season, with a seventh place finish in the Music City Collegiate in October, and a fifth place finish in the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invitational in February.

The Swede's strongest performance came in the Music City Collegiate where Fredriksson scored five under par in three rounds. The junior has finished four of his last seven tournaments with a result either even with par, or under par, and was the first Phoenix to win a conference championship individually since 2011

Mid-South Conference officials announced the 2025-26 Men's Golf Champions of Character Team on Tuesday, with Luke Carroll representing the Phoenix.

The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.

Thirty Mid-South Conference men's golf student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced on Monday as well.

To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be in their third term or fourth quarter.Cumberlands (Ky.) led men's golf with nine academic honorees. Cumberland (Tenn.) is second with six honorees, while Campbellsville (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) each have five.
