Luis Cerejo is Awarded Mid-South Offensive Player of the Week with Four Goal Contributions

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Men's Soccer Midfielder Luis Cerejo is awarded the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This week, the Phoenix played in two matches: Bryan and Oakland City. Cerejo finished his week with one goal, and three assists, which lead to seven points total.

Against Bryan, Cerejo would assist on the opening goal against the Lions on a corner kick, and score the third goal of the game, which was the second half of the two goals in a 12 second sequence. He would also have five shots and two shots on goal.

In the match against Oakland City, the Sophomore would be awarded with an assist on both goals that the Phoenix scored. He would also have four shots, and one shot on goal.

After this week, Cerejo would jump up to a tie for second in the Mid-South with five assists, and third in the Mid-South total points with 13.

This is Cerejo's first career Mid-South Offensive Player of the Week award, and the fourth this season for Cumberland. With Philipp Schmidtke winning two and Pau Ortega winning one last week.
