Volleyball Look to Upset the Tigers on Tuesday Night

LEBANON, TENN. - - Men's Volleyball will look to bounce back after their defeat against St-Mary-of-the-Woods as they face No.4 Campbellsville in Kentucky. 

Cumberland's impressive five game win streak came to an end last weekend as they fell to the Pomeroys 1-3. The Phoenix now have an 8-8 overall record and are 4-3 in conference play. 

Joao Infante continued his form against the Pomeroys with a massive 21 kills, nine more than any other player on the night. Infante still leads the conference in kills per set, averaging 4.18. Francesco Corradini has made some important defensive plays at the net for the Phoenix and is second in the conference in blocks per set with 1.42, while Alexander Heuer is third in the RSC on digs per set with 3.27. The Phoenix will be hoping Abdallah Roshdy can continue his form as he picked up 22 assists against the Pomeroys. Cumberland are currently averaging a .240 hitting percentage and holding their opponents to a .185. 

No.4 ranked Campbellsville come into Tuesday's match up undefeated so far, with a 19-0 overall record, going 7-0 in conference play. The Tigers swept IU East in their last match in straight sets. The visitors haven't dropped a set in their last four games, so will be a tough challenge for the Phoenix.

Pedro Zavatini will be one to watch for the Phoenix as he comes into the match leading the conference in hitting percentage with an impressive .500. Andrew Ovalle has been solid on the defensive end for the Tigers and currently leads the conference in digs per set, averaging 4.03. Alonzo Vega has also been a key player for Campbellsville this season as he leads the conference in assists per set averaging 10.73. In their last match the Tigers finished with a .235 hitting percentage. 

In all time history Campbellsville has the advantage over Cumberland with a 4-12 record. The last match up between the sides ended in a 0-3 win for the Tigers. Cumberland did win at home last season, so will be looking to travel to Kentucky and bring home the upset win.
