Phoenix Esports Earns Three Top Seeds in Mid-South Conference Playoffs

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University Esports enters the Mid-South Conference Playoffs with three teams competing, all earning the No. 1 seed in their respective brackets.

The Rocket League team, composed of Daniel Rees, Matthew Zabel, Henri Kreuger, Benjamin Eleby, Gerson Cardenas, and Hamp Lackey, finished 6-0 in conference play to secure the top seed. The Phoenix will begin their playoff run against Bethel University on Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. CT as they look to capture their third consecutive conference championship.

The Cumberland Esports Overwatch team consisting of Garrett Tackett, Stijn Scheffers, Casey McCale, Andrew Kingston, and Issac Boodt also went undefeated in conference play at 6-0 and did not drop a single map all season, earning the No. 1 seed. Cumberland opens the playoffs against Bethel University on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. CT in pursuit of its fourth conference championship.

The Cumberland Esports Valorant team, consisting of Wesley Osborne, Mark Matsuda, Carson Rose, Liam Van Timmeren, and Rebeca Oliviera de Souza, also went undefeated in conference play at 6-0 without dropping a single map to claim the top seed. The Phoenix will face Freed-Hardeman University on Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m. CT as they aim for their third conference championship.
