Baseball set to Host Military Appreciation Day this Saturday

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Baseball in conjunction with the Wilson County Veterans Services Office is hosting a Military Appreciation Day during the Mid South Conference doubleheader vs. Georgetown on Saturday, April 4, 2026 beginning at 11:00 am at Woody Hunt Stadium.

"Cumberland baseball is very grateful for the service of all US military veterans and active service members and we think this will be a great way for us to express our appreciation to them," said Head Baseball Coach Allen Balmer. "This is not a fundraiser but merely a thank you to all who have served or are serving our country."

All US military veterans and active duty personnel are invited to attend free of charge and enjoy a free hot dog meal. The first 150 vets/AD personnel will receive a free CU camouflage baseball cap.

There will be a ceremony between games (approximately 1:00 pm) recognizing some CU veterans highlighted by a precision flyover by military aircraft and a speech by former baseball player and 23 year US Army veteran Chip Cunningham. The Phoenix team will wear special camouflage caps for the occasion, a veterans color guard from American Legion Post 281 in Mt. Juliet will present the colors pregame, and there will be a contingent of active duty soldiers from Ft. Campbell in attendance.

Cumberland baseball and the Wilson County VSO would like to thank our sponsors for this event-the Wilson County Civic League and the City of Lebanon and Mayor Rick Bell.

If you'd like to be a sponsor for this event please contact Zabrina Seay at 615-444-2460 or Randy Sallis at 615-430-9128.
