LEBANON, Tenn. - - The Cumberland men's volleyball earned the five seed in the River State Conference Tournament, as was released by the league this afternoon.
The Phoenix managed a record of nine wins and seven losses in conference play, tying them with St. Mary-of-the-Wood's, who took the tiebreak and fourth seed over Cumberland. With Cumberland earning the five seed, they will face off against that same SMWC team on the road this coming Tuesday, April 14th. Elsewhere, No. 6 seed Brescia will have to travel to take on the No. 3 seed, Oakland City, on the same day.
The winner of Cumberland and SMWC will stare down the top-seeded Tigers while the winner of the 3/6 matchup will play No. 2 seed Georgetown. Following Tuesday's opening-round matchups, the two winning teams will travel to Gosser Gymnasium to join Campbellsville and Georgetown for the semifinals on Friday, April 17, with matches slated for 3 PM and 6 PM CT.Â
