Volleyball to Wrap up Regular Season Against Georgetown on the Road

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland will travel to Georgetown tomorrow night to face the No.13 ranked Tigers in their final regular season match.

The Phoenix come into the game 14-11 on the season and 9-6 in conference play. In their most recent match the Phoenix pushed Campbellsville to a fifth set but fell at the last hurdle in a tight contest.

The Phoenix were led by Joao Infante who had 23 kills on a .231 hitting percentage. The senior picked up his second NAIA Attacker of the Week Honors after the Phoenix won four games in a row including an upset victory over No.12 Reinhardt. Audi Sethman found success at the service line with three service aces, while Zendai Richards and Frederick Amegbletor both kept up their form hitting 14 and ten kills respectively. Defensively, Francesco Corradini and Austin Kuehler both combined for a total of ten blocks at the net, Kuehler also helped his team out with 26 assists on the night. The Phoenix are averaging a .252 hitting percentage.

Georgetown come into the game 17-7 on the season and are 12-2 in conference play. In their most recent game the Tigers defeated Midway 3-0. Georgetown are on a six game win streak and haven't lost a set in the last four games.

Grant Hapner led the way against Midway with 11 kills on a .389 hitting percentage, while Santino Zucchiatti and Ben Milam both chipped in with eight kills each. Andrew Mayhew had three service aces on the night. The Tigers are averaging a .286 hitting percentage.

Georgetown have dominated in this match up, with a perfect 0-11 record in all time history. In the previous match up this season the Tigers defeated the Phoenix 0-3 in Lebanon. Cumberland will look to turn the tide and finish the regular season on a high, while the Tigers will be looking to make it seven wins in a row and give themselves a chance to win the regular season.
