Rasucher Leads with MSC Freshman of the Year; Chappell and Daughrity Named to All-Conference Teams

LEBANON, Tenn. -- Mid-South Conference officials announced the 2026 All MSC Softball teams and individual award winners on Wednesday as the Phoenix garnered three selections to All-Conference Teams, including Avery Rauscher winning Freshman of the Year.

Going into the Mid-South Tournament, senior infielder Abby Chappell earned All-Conference First team, while senior infielder Karley Daughrity and freshman pitcher Avery Rauscher earned All-Conference Second Team. Rauscher also received the Mid-South Freshman of the Year award.

Chappell had a strong senior season in conference play. Batting .316, while having an on base percentage of .371, and a slugging percentage of .474. All three placed the senior firmly in the top 20. Defensively, the Clarksville native had to adjust to a new position in the infield after moving to shortstop, but Chappell was able to get 47 assists and three double plays in conference play.

Daughrity led the Phoenix in the order and had a strong conference season, placing in the top fifteen in hitting percentage (.328) and on base percentage (.397). On the defensive side, the third baseman posted a .971 fielding percentage while getting 20 putouts, 48 assists and scoring one double play in conference play.

Rauscher became the first pitcher to earn Freshman of the Year honors since Freed-Hardeman's Chloe Winters in 2021. The Clarksville native finished top five in the conference in ERA throughout the season, with a 2.35 ERA. The freshman appeared in 22 games, and started 20, with 13 complete games. Rauscher pitched 131.1 innings and accumulated 104 strikeouts, 39 walks, and a 10-9 record.

For the Academic All Conference, Daughrity is joined by Reagan Arnemann, Leslie Bartoli, Sara Brogdon, Elly Castle, Katlyn Conner, Pearl Davis, Hailey Donato, Karsyn France, Madison Lancaster, Deshea Oakley, Natalie Rector, Emily Seavers, Abby Stokes, and Reagan Werth

Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Myleah Hardy is the MSC Softball Player of the Year, Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Kayden Murray is the Pitcher of the Year. Mid-South Conference head coaches selected the individual awards and all-conference teams by vote. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Lindsey Wilson's coaching staff picked up the MSC Coach of the Year honors. Callum Maskill is the head coach of the year, and Annabelle Sharber is the conference assistant coach of the year.

Maskill and Sharber led the Blue Raiders to the MCS regular-season title this season. Lindsey Wilson owns a 38-6 overall record and a 14-4 mark in conference play.

The Mid-South Conference Softball Tournament begins on Wednesday, with the championship scheduled for Saturday at Marilyn D. Sparks Park in Columbia, Ky..
