Lind Named MSC Golfer of the Year; Trio of Phoenix earn Second Team Honors

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Major Mid-South Conference awards and All-Conference teams were announced last night with Cumberland nabbing four All-Conference representatives and the highest honor in the MSC to go along with it.

After yet another successful year atop the Phoenix lineup, Matilda Lind was named the Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Year, as was announced by the league office this afternoon.

Lind delivered her best season at Cumberland yet, earning Golfer of the Year honors after consistently competing at an elite level from the opening tournament through the spring championship stretch. Lind wrapped up her third conference season with the No. 32 ranking in the country, highest in the MSC.

Her season was highlighted by a tournament championship at the 2025 Mid-South Conference Women's Fall Preview, where she captured first place in a 45-player field. She added another top-three finish during the year and consistently placed top ten in a number of strong tournament fields.

Lind recorded four top-10 finishes during the season, including a fifth-place finish at the Music City Classic, eighth at the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite, ninth at the Patriot Invite, and 10th at the Currahee Club Invitational. Even outside the top 10, she remained a steady scorer with a 14th-place finish at the Carey Collegiate.

Lind was also the only First Team representative for the Phoenix, while Lucy Labdon, Alba McCorquodale, and Crystal Zamzow all earned Second Team honors.

Zamzow and Labdon both had amazing runs of their own at the MSC tournament, seeing each with their highest placing in their college career. The Canadian was neck and neck for the lead all Championship long, but ultimately came up just short. Labdon also battled as she was somewhat up and down all weekend, but rarely ever dropped from the top five as she finished tied for 4th.

McCorquodale was the third and final member of the Second Team for Cumberland, charging up through the conference rankings on Tuesday to nab her sixth top 20 finish of the season.

Sydney Hermann was also named the Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year, the first Cumberland assistant to be honored since Daniel Beck in 2023.

Mid-South Conference officials also announced the 2025-26 Women's Golf Champions of Character Team on Tuesday, seeing Crystal Zamzow represent the Phoenix.
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.

Thirty-five Mid-South Conference women's golf student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced on Monday as well.

To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be in their third term or fourth quarter.

Cumberlands (Ky.) produced the most women's golf academic honorees with seven, followed closely by Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) with six each.
