Women's Soccer earns No. 1 Seed and a Share of the MSC Regular Season Championship

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University women's soccer has been named the No. 1 seed in the 2025 Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament after capturing a share of the MSC Regular Season Championship, the league office announced Saturday evening.

The Phoenix and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) each finished conference play with 16 points and matching 5-0-1 records, splitting the regular-season title. The two programs met in a thrilling 3-3 draw on October 1 in Columbia, where Cumberland scored the equalizer in the 90th minute to force the tie.

Cumberland earned the top seed through the second conference tiebreaker, boasting a +17 goal differential in league matches (capped at four goals per game) compared to Lindsey Wilson's +13. The title marks the third regular-season championship in program history for the Phoenix and the 20th for the Blue Raiders.

With the No. 1 seed, Cumberland receives a bye and will host its conference semifinal matchup next week at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.

Elsewhere in the bracket, No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson will host No. 7-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), No. 3-seed Cumberlands (Ky.) will face No. 6-seed Georgetown (Ky.), and No. 4-seed Campbellsville (Ky.) will welcome No. 5-seed Bethel (Tenn.).

Quarterfinal matches are scheduled for October 29–31, with semifinals set for November 5–7 and the championship match on November 11. All games will be hosted by the higher-seeded team.

Cumberland will take on the winner of the 4-seed Campbellsville and the 5-seed Bethel in the semifinals at home.

The MSC Tournament champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship in November.
