Dedmon Named MSC Bowler of the Week After Top-10 Finish at Midwest Collegiate Classic

LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cumberland sophomore Braxton Dedmon has been named the Mid-South Conference Bowler of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday, following an outstanding performance at the Midwest Collegiate Classic this past weekend.

Dedmon, a native of Smyrna, Tenn., put together one of the most consistent performances of his young career, finishing seventh overall in a field of 433 bowlers. Over the course of five games, Dedmon knocked down 1,102 pins for a strong 220.4 scoring average, leading the Phoenix to a 14th-place team finish out of 51 teams in a highly competitive national field. Which included a monster fourth game where he scored a tournament high 289 pins.

Dedmon's steady play anchored a solid team effort for the Phoenix, who continue to make strides early in the 2025-26 campaign. Cumberland finished 14th in the Midwest Collegiate Championship ahead of Mid-South rivals Pikeville, the Cumberlands, and Lindsey Wilson.

This marks Dedmon's first MSC weekly honor of the season and of his career.

The Phoenix will be bowling again on October 25 in Smyrna at the MSC Greater Nashville Open.
