Rogers Headlines Five Phoenix Named to All-MSC Volleyball Teams

LEBANON, Tenn.--Five Phoenix earned All-Conference honors on Wednesday as freshman setter Carlee Rogers was named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year, announced by league officials.

Rogers, who served as the team's do-it-all playmaker, becomes the second Cumberland player to win MSC Freshman of the Year since joining Hazel Konkel who won the award in 2022. The Jasper, Ind. native turned in a standout rookie campaign that saw her rank fourth in the MSC with 778 assists and top-10 in digs (353) and blocks (64). A true hybrid threat, Rogers added 198 kills while averaging 1.43 kills, 5.64 assists, and 2.56 digs per set across 138 sets played. She was also a weapon behind the service line, recording 39 aces on the year.

Sophomore Lila Cade, senior Hazel Konkel, sophomore Hailey Jones and senior Morgan Snead joined Rogers on the All-Conference lists. Cade, Konkel, and Rogers were all named First Team All-MSC, while Snead and Jones secured a spot on the Second Team.

Cade was one of the most dynamic attackers in the league, finishing second in the Mid-South in total kills (417) and fifth in kills per set (3.02). The sophomore outside hitter also ranked among the league's best defenders, sitting fourth in digs (433), while adding 44 service aces and 39 total blocks. Cade hit an efficient .262 while leading the Phoenix with 482 total points, averaging 3.5 points per set. Cade was named the Mid-South Conference Attacker of the Week one time this season.

Konkel capped an outstanding senior season as the conference leader in total blocks (130) and blocks per set (0.95), anchoring one of the MSC's top defensive fronts. Offensively, she ranked third in the MSC in hitting percentage (.340) and totaled 256 kills on the year. The senior middle hitter was among the most efficient two-way players in the league, recording double-digit kills in seven matches. Konkel earned one MSC Defender of the Week this season.

Snead, one of the conference's top liberos, earned Second Team honors after ranking third in the MSC in digs (460) and fifth in digs per set (3.41). She was a steady presence in the back row all season long, tallying 48 service aces and handling 717 receptions at a .900-plus efficiency rate. Snead was named the Mid-South Conference Defender of the Week one time this season.

Jones provided steady production in the middle with 131 kills  hitting .225 this season. She also had a good block for CU posting 68 total blocks (0.59/set) over 116 sets.

Cumberland (24-13, 6-6 MSC) opens play in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Thursday in Bowling Green as the No. 4 seed, facing fifth-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) at noon CT.
