Cumberland Sweeps Mid-South Conference Awards; Eight Earn All-Conference Honors

LEBANON, Tenn. - - It was a banner day for Cumberland women's soccer as the Phoenix swept the 2025 Mid-South Conference's major postseason awards and placed eight players on the All-Conference teams, the league office announced Thursday. Senior Seika Stull was named MSC Player of the Year, Klara Bjorkman earned Defensive Player of the Year, and freshman Olga Wallemo took home Freshman of the Year honors. In addition, Scott Davidson was voted Coach of the Year and Ally Morrell received Assistant Coach of the Year accolades after leading Cumberland to a share of the MSC regular-season title.

Senior midfielder Seika Stull capped her Phoenix career with one of the most productive seasons in program history, orchestrating the Cumberland attack from the center of the park. Stull led the entire Mid-South Conference with 16 assists while adding five goals for a total of 26 points, the second-highest mark in the league. The Japan native has been the heartbeat of the Phoenix offense, recording either a goal or assist in 12 of her 16 matches this season. Her ability to dictate tempo, deliver pinpoint service, and find teammates in space transformed Cumberland into one of the nation's most dynamic offenses, averaging 3.9 goals per game with 65 total goals, ranking among the NAIA's top-20 scoring teams. Stull is the fourth Cumberland player to earn the award and the fifth-time in school history joining Rebecca Holloway (2017, 2018), Shauna Gilpin (2014), and Taylor Nay (2013).

Freshman defender Klara Bjorkman anchored a back line that was the foundation of Cumberland's championship run, earning her recognition as the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Swedish center back started 15 matches and was instrumental in organizing a defense that produced seven shutouts and held opponents to a 1.12 goals-against average.Beyond her defensive dominance, she contributed offensively with two assists. Bjorkman is the third Phoenix to win the award to bring the award back to Lebanon for the seventh-time in an eight year span. Grace Morris (2023, 2022, 2021) and Sarah Haddock (2020, 2019, 2018) are the other two Phoenix to win the award.

In her debut collegiate campaign, Olga Wallemo made an immediate impact and quickly became one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the conference, earning MSC Freshman of the Year honors. Wallemo ranked among the Mid-South's top scorers with 10 goals and one assist, The Swedish newcomer scored in nine of her 15 appearances. Wallemo is the fifth Cumberland player to win the award joining Marie Bathe (2019), Emily Shires (2014), Olivia Chu (2013), and Renee LaRose (2010, TranSouth).

Head coach Scott Davidson and assistant Ally Morrell were honored by their peers as the Mid-South Conference Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively, after guiding Cumberland to a share of the regular-season championship. In their first season leading the program together, the duo transformed the Phoenix into a disciplined, high-scoring powerhouse that finished with an 12-4-1 overall record and an unbeaten 5-0-1 mark in conference play. Under their leadership, Cumberland produced one of the most balanced teams in the league, ranking top-three in both goals scored and goals allowed.
Davidson wins the honor for the first time in his career joining Brian Davies (2017) and Gavin McKinney (2012 and 2013). Morrell marks the first Assistant Coach to earn the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Cumberland earned a conference-high five players on the First Team All-Conference list: Seika Stull, Klara Bjorkman, Olga Wallemo, Celia Martin, and Kadisha Martina.

Celia Martin capped her senior season in net with a First Team All-Conference nod, serving as the steady presence behind the Phoenix defense.
