Schmidtke Earns Back to Back MSC Offensive Player of the Week Honors for First Time

LEBANON, Tenn. - - For the second week in a row, Philipp Schmidtke has been named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as was announced by the league office this afternoon.

Rampaging through his first weekend's worth of games, the German set the tone for his season with two goals and three assists in two games against strong competition. Schmidtke only had one game this weekend to try and get himself back in contention for the award and he made the most of it.

In Cumberland's Saturday matchup against No. 11 ranked Bethel (Ind.), Schmidtke scored a pair of goals on four shots and kept his hot start going as the Phoenix drew 3-3.

With the article published today, Schmidtke earns his second conference weekly honor of the season and third of his career.
