Cumberland Golf in Sixth at Carey Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss.--Cumberland Women's Golf sits in sixth place after the opening two rounds of the Carey Collegiate, posting a team total of 639.

The Phoenix recovered from a difficult first round of 325 by carding an improved 314 in round two, cutting 11 strokes off their score.

Keiser leads the tournament at 595, with Dalton State close behind at 602 and Loyola (La.) in third at 610. William Carey holds fourth at 616, followed by Lindsey Wilson in fifth with 621. Cumberland is 18 shots back of the Blue Raiders.

Matilda Lind sits inside the Top 15 in tie for 14th place. Lind carded a 80 in the first round with 12 pars. She fired a 74 in the second round to move up the leaderboard. She recorded one birdie on No. 7 with 15 pars, a bogey and a double to finish at two over. She has posted 154 total shots.

Lucy Landon is tied for 24th place after shooting back-to-back 80s. Labdon picked up two birdies to end her first round, but had eight bogeys and one double bogey. She started her second round with a birdie before picking up another on No. 9. She had three bogeys and three doubles.

Alba McCorquodale is tied for 30th place at 19-over. McCorquodale finished both of her rounds shooting an 84 in the first before improving to post a 79 in the second round. In her second round, she picked up two birdies.

Franzika Mramor is tied for 33rd place after shooting an 83 and 81 for 164 strokes. Crystal Zamzow is one stroke behind Mramor at 165 in 35th place. Zamzow carded an 82 in her first 18 and an 83 in the second round.

Caitlyn Bilham and Katelyn DeHart are competing as individuals. Bilham is in 41st place at 177 shooting a 93 and an 84. DeHart is 45th place after posting an 89 and a 92.

The Phoenix will play the final round of the Carey Collegiate tomorrow.
