LEBANON, Tenn. - - The Cumberland women's tennis team will open the 2025-26 regular season ranked No. 23 in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll.
Since the preseason poll was released in November, the Phoenix have played a pair of matches, falling to DI and DIII opponents, Murray State and Sewanee. Most recently, Cumberland faced off with a strong NCAA opponent in Sewanee, and took the doubles point off the highly-touted Tigers but couldn't keep their momentum in singles.
The Phoenix will be in action again tomorrow afternoon as they take on Blue Mountain Christian and Christian Brothers University in Memphis.
Following that, Cumberland has an impressive schedule to battle through, taking on seven opponents who are ranked or receiving votes in the most current NAIA poll.
