Women's Tennis Jump One Spot in NAIA Top 25

LEBANON, Tenn. - - The Cumberland women's tennis team jumped one spot in the second regular season NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll, climbing to No. 22.

Since the previous poll the Phoenix have done well, going 3-1 over the two week span, including a ranked win over No. 20 Oakland City. The first win of the stretch came over Christian Brothers, taking a 6-1 win over the short-handed Memphis team before winning a razor thin matchup against Blue Mountain, 4-3.

Following that, Cumberland picked up their best win of the short season, winning 4-2 in a clinch over No. 20 Oakland City. The only loss the Phoenix picked up in that time was over the now No. 10 ranked Marian Knights.

This week's steadiness comes after considerable shakeup in the first regular-season poll, released on Feb. 11. No teams moved more than two places in this week's poll, and Marian (Ind.) is the only team to enter the top 10, at No. 10, replacing Holy Cross (Ind.), falling to No. 11.

The Phoenix will play No. 21 ranked Indiana Wesleyan on Friday before then opening conference play up at home the following day, taking on Campbellsville at 1 PM.
