Women's Golf ties for Sixth at First Spring Tournament

VALDOSTA, Ga.--Cumberland Women's Golf closed out the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite tied for sixth overall with a 54-hole total of 958 in a field stacked with nationally ranked programs.

The Phoenix carded rounds of 325, 316, and finished with a 317 in the final round today.

SCAD Atlanta captured the team title at 905 (298-305-302), followed by Dalton State in second at 916. SCAD Savannah made a strong push with a 297 in the final round to finish third at 920, while Eastern Florida State placed fourth at 930. Truett McConnell rounded out the top five at 945. Mobile finished eighth at 1,187.

Matilda Lind capped off the tournament with a strong final round with a two-over 74, posting a 38 on the front nine before closing with an even-par 36 on the back. Lind recorded four birdies in the round with nine pars to jump up to finish tied for eighth at 232 strokes.

Alba McCorquodale carded a 78 in the final round to finish at 235 strokes for the tournament. She recorded one birdie in the round on No. 15 with 11 pars in the round.

Franziska Mramor turned in an 86 in the final round to tie for 28th overall at 247 strokes. Lucy Labdon and Crystal Zamzow finished tied for 34th place at 251 shots. Labdon finished with an 83 in round three while Zamzow shot an 82 on the day.

Cumberland will be in action next at the Currahee Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan in Toccoa, Georgia on March 2-3
