Phoenix Women Record Three Personal Bests at UAB Spring Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Cumberland Women's Track & Field continued competition at the UAB Spring Invitational posting three personal bests on the day.

Wendy Komane posted a personal best time of 2:28.63 in the 800 meters, placing 12th overall. Channon Cundiff followed with a 16th-place finish in 2:37.14, while Alexa Rumpf represented the Phoenix in the 5000 meters, finishing 21st with a time of 20:12.15.

Leesa Mutandwa competed in both the 400 meters and high jump, placing 16th in the 400m with a time of 1:00.80 before clearing 1.52 meters in the high jump to finish 10th overall.

In the field events, Avery Crockett and Rita Francis each recorded personal bests in the shot put. Crockett placed 13th with a mark of 8.76 meters, while Francis followed in 14th with a throw of 8.24 meters. Crockett also competed in the discus, finishing 19th with a mark of 18.49 meters, while Francis added a 19th-place finish in the hammer throw at 17.85 meters.

Cumberland will be in action next weekend at the Tennessee Invitational.
