LaRue’s Huge Week Leads to MSC Player of the Week Honors

LEBANON, Tenn.--Senior Dylan LaRue has been named Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week after a dominant performance at the plate that helped power Cumberland through a five-game stretch and a four-game sweep of Siena Heights.

The Blanco, Texas native hit .524 (11-for-21) on the week with three doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 12 RBI, posting a 1.048 slugging percentage and .583 on-base percentage. LaRue recorded six extra-base hits and collected multi-hit performances in four of the five games.

LaRue highlighted the week with a 4-for-5 performance with a triple, home run, and five RBI in Cumberland's 25-0 win over Siena Heights, one of the most dominant offensive performances of the season. He followed that up later in the day with another home run and three RBI in a 15-2 victory, helping lead the Phoenix offense during the weekend sweep.

This marks the first Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor of the season and of his career for LaRue. He is the second Phoenix to earn Mid-South Conference Player of the Week this season joining Cohl Proctor.
