Chesnut earns MSC Men's Golfer of the Week

LEBANON, Tenn.--Senior Patrick Chesnut has been named Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week following an impressive performance at the Currahee Invitational where he earned All-Tournament honors with a top-three finish.

The Athens, Ala. native tied for third place in a field of 48 golfers, finishing at five-over-par on par-72 layout. Chesnut carded rounds of 73, 75, and 73 across the three-round event to lead Cumberland as the low Phoenix finisher.

Chesnut tallied 12 birdies during the tournament, four each round, consistently keeping himself near the top of the leaderboard throughout the two-day event and helping the Phoenix stay competitive in a strong nine-team field.

This marks the first Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week honor of the season for Chesnut and the third of his career.
