Men's Golf Wrap Up Play at Music City Classic

HERMITAGE. Tenn. - - The Cumberland men's golf team wrapped up play in the annual Music City Classic, placing 19th amongst a field full of ranked NAIA programs.

The Phoenix shot 15over in their final round of the tournament, totaling 898 strokes in their three rounds of play, ending with scores of 294, 301, 303, respectively. No. 1 ranked Keiser came to the course and reigned supreme, firing 32 under as a team, along with the first and third placing golfers. Iver Sokhan-Sanj claimed the top spot, shooting 15 under in his three rounds, led by a massive second round score of 63.

Cumberland's lineup was mostly unmoved from the previous two rounds, seeing Gustav Fredrikkson finish his day in 12th place. The Swede shot an even par 72 his final time through, shooting five birdies to help finish his tournament four under par.

Garrett Maria shot a 78 in his final round, going six over his last round for a final placing of 80th. Going 14 over for his tournament, Patrick Chesnut shot a 78 in round three to land himself in 88th place.

Further down the lineup, Egan Hadelman rounded out the scoring lineup as he shot his second-best round with a five over, 77. The freshman also managed a high, three birdies in his final round. Last in the starting five, Tiger Houston had his best round of the Classic, shooting a 76, aided by a big eagle on 18.

The Phoenix will be back in action two weeks from now, competing in the Mid-South Conference Championship in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
