Fifth Place for Lind Leads Phoenix; Cumberland Third After Two Rounds

HERMITAGE, Tenn. - - The Cumberland women's golf team hosted this week's tournament, bringing in 20 top teams from across the country to Hermitage Golf Club and the .

Matilda Lind leads the Phoenix after her first two rounds, shooting an even par through 36 holes. The Swede was a rock at the top of the CU lineup, answering every bogey with a birdie to stay atop the heap of more than a hundred players, sitting at fifth place overall with a score of one under par.

Lucy Labdon wasn't far behind her as the junior went four over par in her first two rounds, shooting six birdies, including going back-to-back-to-back on holes 17,18, and 1, as she turned the corner her second time through. Labdon sits just outside of the top ten, landing at 12th place.

Sitting in three spot for the Phoenix, Crystal Zamzow landed herself in 36th place after shooting duplicate rounds of 77 and 77 for her 154 total after 36 holes. The Canadian began to find her rhythm in the second round, shooting three of her four birdies on the front nine her second time through.

Rounding out the Phoenix's scoring lineup, Franziska Mramor shot even rounds of 79 and 79 for 158 total strokes. Mramor scored a birdie in each round and sits in 58th place after two rounds. The final Cumberland player in the starting five was Alba McCorquodale, massively improved from rounds one to two as she went from nine over to just three over in the second.

Katelyn DeHart competed as an independent as well, shooting rounds of 81 and 89.

Cumberland will be back in action early tomorrow morning, teeing off at 8:30 AM CT for their final round.
