Lind Makes All-Tournament Team; Phoenix Place Sixth Overall

HERMITAGE. Tenn. - - The Cumberland women's golf team concluded play in the Music City Classic, landing a sixth place finish overall.

The Phoenix totaled 910 strokes to beat out conference opponent Lindsey Wilson by a single stroke. Cumberland also finished above two more opponents ranked higher than them, giving themselves a chance to continue to climb the rankings. The overall winner was Marian, as the Knights shot just five over a team, while also taking the winner overall, Emma Weiler, who shot four under.

Matilda Lind was steady in her final round, shooting a 75 to land herself in the All-Tournament team, finishing in the fifth place. Lind shot an excellent ten birdies over her three rounds and was the only Phoenix to break par in this tournament.

Behind her, Lucy Labdon finished eleven over par for her tournament, shooting a 79 her final time through the course, good for 26th overall. Four strokes behind her in 37th place, Crystal Zamzow finished her tournament with a 77, shooting the same score all three rounds.

Rounding out the scoring lineup for the Phoenix, Franziska Mramor matched Zamzow's effort with three rounds of the same score, shooting a 79 through her final 18. The last member of the starting five for Cumberland was Alba McCorquodale, fielding a 78 her last time through to sit in 60th place as the tournament ended.

Katelyn DeHart competed as an individual again for the final round, shooting a 91.

The Phoenix will have two weeks off before starting post-season play in two weeks, teeing off at the Mid-South Conference Championship in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
