Track & Field Wrapped Up Action in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Cumberland University wrapped up competition at the Jim Freeman / Clark Woods Invitational on Saturday with several solid efforts on the final day of action at the University of Louisville.

Abdoulaye Bah posted a personal-best time of 10.69 seconds in the men's 100 meters to finish 24th in a field of 59 competitors. In the hurdles, Mohamed Hatem Galal recorded a time of 15.27 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 22nd overall.

Veron Ifill turned in a season-best performance in the men's 400 meters, crossing the line in 49.96 seconds, while Leesa Mutandwa added a time of 59.88 seconds in the women's 400 meters.

In the field events, Daveina Watson competed in the women's discus, recording a throw of 34.94 meters to finish 23rd. Liyu Scarlassara rounded out the day for the Phoenix with a 12th-place finish in the men's triple jump, posting a mark of 13.66 meters.

Cumberland will now turn its focus to the Mid-South Conference Championships, set for May 3-4 at Lindsey Wilson.
