Men's Track & Field posts Four Top 10 Finishes on Saturday to Wrap Up the Commodore Challenge

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Men's Track and Field wrapped up the Commodore Challenge on Saturday with four Top 10 finishes.

Lynden Johnson and Nsikak Akpan finished seventh and eighth in the 60 meter dash. Johnson posted a time of 6.94 seconds and Akpan clocked in at 6.96 seconds. The NAIA "B" standards time in the event is 6.86 seconds, so the two just missed out on less than one tenth of a second. Kier Priest also ran in the event finishing in 29th with a time of 7.27.

Benjamin Nyakudya came in 11th place in the 400 meter dash. He posted a time of 49.98 seconds. Lucas Phillips took 15th place in the event at 50.70 seconds.

Dinkon Sinisterra ran in the 60 meter hurdles finishing in 12th place with a time of 8.83 seconds.

Joel Forbes took 30th place in the mile at 4:25.98 and Elliott Hughes came in 39th at 4:40.65. Ethan Rhoden ran in the 3000 meter coming in 27th place with a time of 10:03.50.

Juan Orejuela De La Rosa and Dinkon Sinisterra each competed in the shot put. Orejuela De La Rosa took seventh place with a best mark of 15.25 meters. Sinisterra came in 19th place at 11.00 meters.

Amir Mersal came in ninth place in the triple jump. Mersal best mark was 14.12 meters, narrowly missing "B" standards at 14.15 meters.

The Phoenix will be back at Vanderbilt next Friday and Saturday to take on the Vanderbilt Invitational.
