Phoenix XC Runs at Nationals; Bett Places 12th for All-American Status

COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Kennedy Bett finishes in 12th place to earn the program's second NAIA All-American honor at the NAIA National Championships.

Bett posted a 12th-best finish to solidify his All-American freshman campaign. Bett posted a time of 24:11.9 in the 8K. Bett worked his way inside the Top 20 at the second split and continued to climb. He worked his way up to seventh at the halfway point before finishing in 12th place overall. 

He joins Jason Bowers as the program's second NAIA All-American. Bowers finished in 11th place in 2022 with a time of 24:20.4. In order to be an All-American, a student-athlete has to place in the Top 40 of the field.  

Joel Forbes finished in 212th place out of 326 student-athletes. Forbes posted a time of 25:56.0. 

Mercy Kibiwott finished in 145th in the women's 6K National Championships. The field featured 324 student-athletes. Kibiwott posted a time of 23:11.1 in her second nationals appearance. 

The College of Idaho won the men's National Championship with 87 points. Milligan finished in second place with 96 points followed by the University of the Cumberlands in third place. 

Evert Silva won the men's national title with a time of 23:14.0. Silva dominated the field winning by 30 seconds. 

The Master's won the women's NAIA National Championship edging out Taylor by one point 92 to 93. St. Mary's took bronze with 125 points. 

Jaynie Haletrman is the individual national champion with a time of 20:24.7. She bested second place by 21 seconds.
