Wilkerson earns Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week Honors

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland senior Sarah Wilkerson has been named the Mid-South Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Wilkerson turned in a strong performance at the Midway XC Invitational on Friday, placing second overall in the 6K with a time of 25:47.13. Her runner-up finish helped spark the Phoenix to the team title at the meet, finishing ahead of three other MSC programs.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native's performance marks her first weekly honor of the season and highlights her leadership as one of Cumberland's top returners.

This is the first Mid-South Conference Runner of the Week honor for the Phoenix this season. Cumberland will be back in action on Saturday, October 4 at the "Live in Lou" Louisville XC Classic.
