Men's Track & Field opens up Outdoor Season in Georgia

KENNESAW, Ga.-Cumberland Track & Field opened up the outdoor season with tough competition in the Don McGarey Invitational at Kennesaw State. 

The Phoenix had five sprinters take on the 200 meter with Benjamin Nyakudya posting the best finish in 11th with a time of 22.49. Lucas Phillips and Kier Priest finished in 48th and 49th at 23.79 and 23.85. Damiah Smith and Shawn Katsidzira finished in 50th and 55th. 

Joel Forbes took 19th place in the 1500 meter. Forbes posted a time of 4:07.79. Tahmar Upshaw and Elliott Hughes finished in 34th and 35th with times of 4:14.93 and 4:15.41. 

Dinkon Sinisterra posted a 14th place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 40.80 meters. 

The Phoenix will finish the Don McGarey Invitational tomorrow at Kennesaw State to start the outdoor season.
