Cumberland Completes First Day of Play at Mid-South Conference Fall Preview

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.--Cumberland men's golf sits in sixth place after day one of the Mid-South Conference Fall Preview, completing the opening round and about half of round two before play was suspended Monday evening at Bowling Green Country Club.

The Phoenix posted a 319 in round one and are 491 strokes overall through their partial second round. Lindsey Wilson leads the event at 472 and two-over as a team, followed by the Cumberlands in second at 479. Bethel (Tenn.) and Georgetown (Ky.) are tied for third, while Campbellsville holds fifth just ahead of Cumberland.

Gustav Fredriksson led the way for the Phoenix, tied for 14th after an opening-round 80, but turned it up a notch in round shooting two-under through 11 holes with three birdies and one bogey.

Garrett Maria follows close behind, tied for 18th after a 75 in round one with two birdies. He is six-over in his second round at 49 through 11 holes of round two.

Patrick Chesnut and Carter Stroup are each tied for 36th at 14-over par. Chesnut posted an 83 in round one and 45 through 11 holes. Stroup shot an 81 in his first round and is five-over nine holes in round two.
Harry Caygill is in 45th place after an 86 in round one and is five-over through 11. Individual Luke Carroll opened with an 85 and is 10-over through 10 holes of round two in 46th place.

Cumberland will resume its second round Tuesday morning before closing out play with the final round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Preview.
