Bokpin Registers Second-Fastest 60m Time in NAIA

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Mustapha Bopkin sprints his way to the second-fastest 60m time in the NAIA on the second day of the PNC Lenny Lyles.

Mustapha Bokpin posted the No. 1 qualifying time in the 60m prelims, clocking in at 6.60 seconds, earning an NAIA 'A' standard and the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season. He went on to place fourth in the finals with a time of 6.67.

The 4x400m relay team of Veron Ifill, Mustapha Bokpin, Benjamin Nyakudya, and Logan Istre secured an NAIA 'A' standard, running 3:16.43 to place sixth and earn a top-10 national ranking at #10.

Dinkon Sinisterra put together a solid all-around performance in the heptathlon, finishing seventh overall with 4,470 points. He competed in multiple events today, including the 1,000m (2:54.97, 5th place), 60m hurdles (8.79, 6th place), high jump (1.83m, 6th place), and pole vault (3.15m, 10th place).

In the high jump, Liyu Scarlassara cleared 1.90m to finish 13th in the unseeded division, while in the mile, Kennedy Bett clocked 4:27.48 to place 48th in a deep field of competitors.

The Phoenix will get ready for the Mid-South Conference Championship in Louisville on February 16.
