Idamadudu and Bokpin Lead Phoenix on Day Two of Track National Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - - Cumberland Track and Field took part in Day Two of the 2025 NAIA Indoor National Championship with Praise Idamadudu and Mustapha Bopkin running to All-American finishes.

Competing in the 60m hurdles prelim event, Isabella Lehtinen ran herself to a 24th place finish with a time of 9.06 seconds.

Zoe Vlk also took part in the weight throw which she's excelled at all year. A throw of 15.62 meters set her up for an 18th place finish. Vlk will compete tomorrow in the shot put alongside Daveina Watson.

Taking part in both the 400m dash and 200m dash prelims, Praise Idamadudu kept up her strong indoor season with a sweep in the events. First in the 400m, the Nigerian defended her title and ran a 54.58, nearly half a second faster than any of the field in her event. Next up she ran in the 200m dash in 23.78 seconds, two tenths of a second faster than her closest competitor. Both results guarantee her two more All-Americans, adding to her already impressive total.

The only member of the men's track team to run on the day was Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year, Mustapha Bokpin. The Ghanaian sprinter first ran in the 60m dash prelim which he ran in 6.74 seconds, less than a tenth of second behind a pair of runners from William Carey. That performance sets him up to run in the championship tomorrow while also guaranteeing All-American status. Bokpin also ran in the 200m dash prelim but was unable to advance to the final, finishing 10th

Cumberland will have five different competitors tomorrow in four different events.
