Idamadudu Wins Seventh National Title as Phoenix Earn Five All-American Honors on Final Day of NAIA Indoor Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--Cumberland track & field wrapped up the NAIA Indoor National Championships with Praise Idamadudu securing her seventh career national title while four other Phoenix earned All-American honors on the final day of competition.

Idamadudu successfully defended her title in the women's 400m, crossing the line in 53.91 seconds to claim first place and add another championship to her already decorated career. She later earned national runner-up honors in the 200m with a time of 23.65, finishing just 0.06 seconds behind Briana Campbell of Life University. Idamadudu has now collected 17 NAIA All-American honors in her career.

In the field events, Cumberland saw strong performances in the women's shot put. Daveina Watson placed third with a mark of 15.13m, earning her fourth career All-American honor in the event. Teammate Zoe Vlk also secured an All-American finish, taking seventh place with a throw of 13.70m.

On the men's side, Mustapha Bokpin sprinted to a second-place finish in the 60m dash, clocking in at 6.69 seconds. He finished behind William Carey's Barnabas Aggerh, who set both a facility and NAIA record with a blistering 6.53.

The Phoenix women finished in a tie for 11th place with 26 points at the National Championships. The Cumberland men had 12 points with two All-American finishes to tie for 21st place.

The University of the Cumberlands won the women's national title with 58 points and Marian University won the men's national championship.

Cumberland's outstanding performances at nationals capped off a successful indoor season, bringing home a national championship and five All-American honors. The Phoenix will now turn their focus to the outdoor season, set to begin later this month.
