Phoenix Men Wrap Up Lee Fast Break with Three Top 10 Finishes

CLEVELAND, Tenn.--The Cumberland men's track & field team capped off a strong weekend at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational with a few big performances on day two.

The freshman sprint sensation clocked a wind-aided 10.21, the fastest time in the NAIA this season, to win the event. The team hits NAIA "A" standards as the second-fastest mark in the NAIA this season. The only time faster is Bokpin's last weekend at Tennessee when he posted a 10.13.

The Phoenix continued to shine in the relays, as the 4x400-meter squad of Veron Ifill, Dinkon Sinisterra, Logan Istre, and Benjamin Nyakudya posted a time of 3:16.16, hitting the NAIA "B" standards. The relay team has a faster time this season posting a 3:16.06 at the UAB Spring Invitational.

Senior Joel Forbes ran a strong race in the 800 meters, finishing seventh in 1:52.71, a time that currently ranks No. 17 in the NAIA this season.

In the field events, senior Renaldo Savoury competed in the discus, recording a throw of 29.49m (96-09).

With the regular season in the books, the Phoenix now turn their focus to the Mid-South Conference Championships, set for May 4-5 in Williamsburg, Ky.
