Melton Named MSC Champion of Character, 10 Phoenix Earn Academic All-Conference Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland University softball was well represented in the Mid-South Conference's postseason awards this week, with junior Addison Melton earning a spot on the 2025 MSC Softball Champions of Character Team and 10 Phoenix student-athletes recognized as Academic All-Conference honorees.

Melton was selected to the Champions of Character Team for her leadership both on campus and in the community, exemplifying the NAIA's five core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Each conference school nominates one student-athlete for this honor.

In addition to Melton's character recognition, the Mid-South Conference also announced its Academic All-Conference Team, honoring student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.25 GPA and are in at least their third term of attendance. Cumberland placed 10 players on the list: Melton, Annalee Moore, Sara Brogdon, Karley Daughrity, Carley Clinard, Steffani Schrader, Jacey Hatfield, Gracie Arnemann, Madison Croxford, and Karsyn France.

The honors reflect the commitment of Cumberland's student-athletes to excellence on and off the field as they continue to raise the standard for Phoenix softball.
