KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--Cumberland Men's Track & Field closed out a competitive weekend at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday, highlighted by a pair of "A" standard marks and national top-five performances.

Mustapha Bokpin headlined the day with an electric showing in the 100m dash, clocking a time of 10.13 seconds to place fifth overall out of 46 runners. The Ghana native trailed only three unattached athletes and a runner from host Tennessee, while posting the fastest time in the NAIA this season and hitting an NAIA "A" standard.

In the field events, Amir Mersal turned in a strong third-place finish in the triple jump. His mark of 15.03 meters also met the "A" standard and currently ranks fifth nationally in the NAIA. Teammates Liyu Scarlassara and Ahmed Demerdash finished ninth at 14.10m and 15th at 13.16m, respectively.

Veron Ifill recorded a personal-best 49.16 seconds in the 400m to place 13th in a deep field of 41 runners. Benjamin Nyakudya followed in 19th at 49.51, and Joel Forbes finished 25th  at 50.34.

Dinkon Sinisterra placed 17th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.50 seconds, while Edwin Kigen finished 10th in the 3000m steeplechase (10:27.61). Tevaughn Tate rounded out the men's results with a 21st-place finish in the shot put, throwing 11.46 meters.

Cumberland will return to action next weekend at the Lee University Fast Break Invitational.
