Fredriksson earns All-Tournament Honors as Phoenix take Sixth

VALDOSTA, Ga.--Cumberland Men's Golf closed out the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite with a sixth-place finish, posting a 54-hole total of 895 in a tightly packed leaderboard.

The Phoenix improved each round of the tournament, opening with a 310 before firing a 294 in round two and closing with a 291 in the final round. Cumberland's steady progression shaved 19 strokes off their opening-round score and left them just one shot behind Reinhardt for fifth place and three strokes out of the top three.

Coastal Georgia surged to the team title at 880 (301-293-286), while Point (GA) finished second at 888. Dalton State took third at 891 strokes and Southeastern rounded out the top four at 892.  Reinhardt followed closely in fifth at 894. Truett McConnell placed seventh at 911 and Mobile finished eighth at 941.

Gustav Fredriksson closed out his tournament with an even-par 72 to secure a top-five finish and All-Tournament honors. He posted matching 36s on both nines, recording three birdies, three bogeys, and 12 pars to finish the week at even-par overall. Fredriksson finished tied for fifth place at 216 strokes. 

Patrick Chesnut shot a one-over 73 in the final round to finish 10th overall at 221 strokes. Chesnut turned in three birdies and four bogeys in his final round with 11 pars. 

Egan Hadelman delivered the low round of the day for the Phoenix, firing a three-under 69 to finish 21st overall at 228 shots for the tournament. Hadelman was sharp from the start firing five birdies and an eagle with four bogeys on the day. 

Tiger Houston carded a five-over 77 to finish tied for 29th overall at 230 strokes. Houston also carded five birdies in his round, but had six bogeys and two doubles in his round. Carter Stroup also posted a 77  in round three, finishing 38th overall at 238. Stroup carded two birdies on the day. 

Cumberland will be in action next at the Currahee Invitational hosted by Indiana Wesleyan in Toccoa, Georgia on March 2-3.
