Men's Tennis Stays Put in Latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll

LEBANON, Tenn. - - The Cumberland men's tennis team remained at No. 19 in the second regular season NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll.

The Phoenix began their spring campaign with a pair of wins over Christian Brothers in Blue Mountain in Memphis, Tennessee. Cumberland took their first win with a score of 5-2 before then getting a near sweep over Blue Mountain.

Cumberland also took on a pair of ranked teams to wrap up their previous weekend, falling 3-2 to No. 15 Oakland City and 0-4 to No. 22 Marian University.

GGC earned 10 first-place votes, while the previous No. 1, Keiser (Fla.), fell two spots to No. 3 despite gathering the remaining first-place nod. Tennessee Wesleyan is No. 2, and the remainder of the top 10 was filled with the same names as the last poll, although Cumberlands (Ky.) did move into a tie at No. 7 with Holy Cross (Ind.). Arizona Christian is the only new team in this week's poll, checking in at No. 24.

The Phoenix will now open their conference season this weekend, taking on Campbellsville, but will first face off with Indiana Wesleyan.
