BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - - Thirty-six Mid-South Conference men's tennis student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced on Thursday.

Cumberland's lone representative on the men's tennis team was senior Arne Sohmer. The German has been a standout on the court as well as off of it, as he has a 6-3 singles record, alongside a 10-2 doubles mark.

To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be in their third term or fourth quarter.

Cumberlands (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) tied for the most academic honorees from one school, with nine each. Bethel (Tenn.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) each had six.

MSC officials also announced the 2026 Men's Tennis Champions of Character Team on Thursday. The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on and off campus, as well as their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA.
