Then, Baskin Earn MSC Baseball Weekly Honors

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland swept the Mid-South Conference weekly honors as Wilser Then was named MSC Baseball Player of the Week and Logan Baskin earned MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week following a dominant week for the Phoenix.

Then powered Cumberland offensively in a perfect 4-0 week, hitting .636 with four home runs, 11 RBI, and 10 runs scored across four games. The senior first baseman blasted three home runs with six RBI in the series opener against Georgetown. He followed that with another home run in Saturday's doubleheader sweep, finishing the week with a 1.818 slugging percentage and .733 on-base percentage while recording at least one hit in three of four contests.

Then is batting .396 on the season and has hit nine home runs with 35 RBI. This is the first Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week honor for Then this season and the first of his career.

Baskin tossed a complete game in Cumberland's 13-2 victory over Georgetown. The senior left-hander struck out nine over 7.0 innings, allowing just two runs on six hits while issuing no walks.

On the season, Baskin holds a 4-2 record on the mound with a 3.60 ERA. He has logged the most innings on the pitching staff with 50 this season and leads the team in strike outs with 56.

This is Baskin's first Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Week honor this season. He has been named Tennessee Sports Writers' Association Pitcher of the Week one time this year.

Cumberland will host No. 9 Tennessee Wesleyan tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. and will travel to Campbellsville this weekend.
