Hall of Fame
W.W. Suddarth was a decorated member of the Cumberland football team at the turn of the century, captaining the team from 1900 through 1904. Suddarth was recognized as one of the bst lineman in college football and was apart of the the 1903 team that beat Vanderbilt and tied with Clemson.
He also competed on the basketball team and was a strong post presence, having captained the Bulldogs his junior season. His leadership carried off the field of play as well, as he was the vice President of the Caruthers Society, Vice President of the Y.M.C.A., and Presbyterian Minister, serving all across the state of Tennessee.Â
